How long does it take to visit Capes Raptor Centre?
Allow a minimum of 90 minutes to make the most of Capes Raptor Centre. Bird of Prey Encounters run for approximately 40 minutes. The 1km birds of prey forest walk takes approximately 35-40 minutes. There is also a short walk alternative which takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

Capes Raptor Centre makes a concerted effort to ensure our facilities are accessible to all visitors. The Birds of Prey Forest Walk is an unsealed gravel pathway and is more suitable for all-terrain prams and wheelchairs.

What happens if it rains?
Capes Raptor Centre is open rain or shine, unless the severity of the weather poses a threat to our visitors, staff or birds of prey. If we close due to a major weather event, we will post the news on our website or social media accounts.
The Bird of Prey Encounters may be adjusted according to how much rain is falling. During heavy rain or wind, visitors will be provided with the opportunity to meet one of the resident barn owls. During extreme rain or wind, the Bird of Prey Encounters will be cancelled.

Drinks and ice-cream are available for sale. You are welcome to bring your own food and have lunch in the undercover area. Please help by throwing away rubbish in the bins provided, as well as recycling plastic and aluminum cans.
